Just a personal note to record that our barbershop chorus, The Big County Chorus, sang at the national convention competition at the Harrogate International Centre this afternoon. We were pleased to come 29th out of 37th choruses, improving our score considerably from our effort in Scarborough two years ago. We sang two songs: Let the Rest of the World Go By and If You Knew Suzie. Now, barbershop is Cheesy (deliberate capital C), but it's a lot of fun to sing, and today we were up against the best choruses in the country. For the record, the Great Western Chorus from Bristol won. Thanks to our chorus director Hazel, our chairman Keith and my good mates Douglas, Tim and Joe. Good fun.
