I picked this one up on the mflresources forum (which I recommend). Google it. the game is called "Rachels Buzzers". Here is how the oral game was described:
My Year 11 have invented a new game. It's called "Rachel's buzzers"
You need groups of 3. It works best with groups of friends who want to work together.
The middle person sits with their knees up. Each knee is a buzzer. The middle person gives short chunks of sentences in English
eg When I go out
I like to go with my family
for example we go to a restaurant
but if I go with my friends
we just go into town
etc etc (with past, future, speech etc)
The people on either side "buzz" in by tapping a knee. The middle person decides who was quickest. That person then gets to say the chunk of the sentence in Spanish. If they get it wrong it is passed over. The middle person also keeps score, but that just means keeping track of who is ahead, not counting totals.
It worked really well - I will try it with Y13 next lesson!
